CHAPTER 19- Cuffed Up
AT THE TRAP HOUSE
After hearing Riko's warning about leaving Zadduis called all of his boys and told them that they would have to lay low for awhile and informed them that the feds were watching them.
"Be cool." He said, giving all of drug runners specific instructions to lay low until all of this blew over. Zadduis made plans to drop all of his drugs off at the warehouse in the morning so that he would appear like he'd never been selling drugs and use his investments until it was safe to tap back into his stash again. The plan was solid.... Or so he thought. The FBI sat outside his house in a van, listening the entire time.
The next morning, Zadduis woke up in a good mood. He wasn't ready to stop monopolizing the dope game, but he knew that it was best for his family if he took a break from the fast lane. Zadduis, got up, took and descretly began loading his truck up with the drugs he planned to transport to the warehouse. He jumped into his white Chevy truck, and drove until he made it to the vacant warehouse where he stored all of his drugs, but as soon as he pulled in, he saw red and blue lights flashing in his rear view mirror.
"Shit." Zadduis snarled the moment he heard the sirens.
"Get out of the car." The officer demanded.
Zadduis obliged. It only took him a moment to get Zadduis out of the car, onto the ground.
He was busted... It was all over now. Pounds and pounds of weed were discovered embedded in the backseat of his truck.
"Do you know this type of contriband is illegal in Newcrest?" Officer Roger chuckled.
"Naw, Man. I'm from San Mayshuno. It's legal there. I figured it was legal here too." Zadduis lied.
"Well, it's not buddy. You're going to jail. We've been watching you for quite some time now and we knew you were up to something, we just didn't know it was THIS much." Officer Roger pulled Zadduis up from off the ground and carried him to jail.
BACK AT THE HOUSE
Zanovia was at home worried sick about Zadduis. He'd called her earlier this that morning telling her his plan to drop the drugs off and change his lifestyle for the families protection. Although Zanovia was thrilled, she knew that there was something hidden beneath Zadduis's sudden decision to leave the game. Even though she was happy he was ready to change, there was something about the entire thing that made her feel uneasy.
She waited all morning for Zadduis to come home. Baby A'King even cooed Daddy after a few hours, as if he was wondering where his father was, too. Zanovia was a nervouse wreck and she hadn't been feeling so good lately.
"Daddy will be home soon." Zanovia assured baby A'King as she tried to catch her breath from a dizzy spell.
It was then that she heard a ring at the doorbell. She wasn't expecting any guests, but she went to the front door hoping that whoever was behind that door would have explaination of why her husband hadn't made it home yet. When Zanovia opened the door, to her suprise it was her mother-in-law Hattie Mae with a plateful of cupcakes that she'd baked for her grand baby.
"Momma, what are you doing here?" Zanovia asked, puzzled.
"They've got Zadduis." Hattie Mae, said.
"What?" Zanovia exclaimed, nearly falling apart.
Yes baby, Zadduis is in jail. You have to go and see if they will let him post bail. I'm here to watch Baby A'King while you go up to the court house." Hattie replied.
"B-But-But, Momma. When did this happen?" Zanovia stuttered in complete disbelief.
"He just called me a few minutes ago."
Zanovia didn't need to hear anything else, she grabbed her purse and darted out the front door.
