After Nikki showed up and dropped her two kids off with she tried her best to to console the children. She ushered them gently into her home, gave them a bath and laid them in her bed to sleep. Little Andre went to sleep quickly, without uttering a word, but little Ny'Kerria cried uncontrollably.
"Is mommy coming back?" little Ny'Kerria asked. "Don't worry your little head about that right now, ok? " She said tucking her into bed and kissing her forehead. "Everything is going to be ok. Just try and get some rest baby." She said. She rubbed little Ny'Kerria's back until she cried herself to sleep.
Starr was totally overwhelmed. Her sister had just dropped two kids on her doorstep and s he had no idea what to do next, so she called over her best friend and lover, Isman. Isman and Starr had been together privately for over three years. He loved her, he supported her, but he also appreciated his privacy so they kept their relationship out of Starr's spotlight. When she called, he knew she sounded stressed and despite the fact that it was 3AM in the morning, he rushed over immediately to assist his damsel in distress.
They sat on the couch in the den and Starr unloaded on Isman telling him everything from start to finish. He was stunned. He had only heard of stuff like this in the movies, but this was VERY real.
"I just don't know what I'm going to do." Starr cried. Isman comforted her and rubbed her feet. "These kids don't have any one else to count on... I've... I've just never done this before..." She said. Starr couldn't keep a pet fish, let alone raise two kids. She was nervous.
"Baby you are going to do just fine. Don't worry, I know you can do this..." Isman said pulling her into his arms and carrying her into the guest bedroom. The two laid in the bed and gazed into each others eyes. "I know your heart, baby. You might not think you are ready, but you are." He said. "And, you aren't alone in this, ok? I'm going to be right here, every step of the way."
His words sounded so assuring, but Starr still wasn't so sure. The only thing she knew for certian was that she was the only hope that this kids had left and she couldn't let them down. With a commercial shoot later that morning and an audition in her first movie roll later that day, Starr was already exhausted by tonight's events. But, she couldn't give up... It just wasn't a choice. She had two kids to support now.
