For the past few days, Starr had been feeling like crap. She didn't have much energy, the smell of food made her stomach turn and she was nauseous all the time. This morning was different though. Despite being able to hide how she was feeling so far, today she was unable to.
Star woke up at 7AM ready to puke! She ran to the bathroom and everything that she ate for dinner last night came up. As she reached for a towel to wipe her face, she heard the door creak and realized that little Ny'Kerria had been standing there watching her the entire time. All of the noise Starr was making must have woke Ny'Kerria up.
"Auntie Starr, are you ok?" Ny'Kerria asked, concerned.
"I'm ok, baby. My stomach is just upset, that's all." The truth was, Starr was a wreck. Although she ahd made taking care of Ny'Kerria and Dre look easy, in reality the struggle was real as fuck! She was tired, the media knit-picked everything that she was doing and now, on top of that, she felt terrible. But, she coudln't tell Ny'Kerria.
"Are you sure Auntie?" Ny'Kerria asked, worrying about her Aunt.
"Don't worry, honey. I'm going to the doctor on Monday to get a check up, but Auntie Starr is just fine? Ok?" Starr reassured her. "Don't you worry." Starr said bending down to hug Ny'kerria and then shooing her out of the bathroom. "Now, go play." Starr instructed.
Later That Day...
Ny'Kerria listened to her Aunt and hesitantly went to go find her brother. The two of them went to the lake to go fishing. While they were definitley having fun, Dre noticed his sister acting funny. So, he asked her what was troubling her.
"What's the matter, sissy?" He asked.
Ny'Kerria didn't answer at first, and then finally decided to tell her brother what had happened. "I.... I saw Auntie Starr sick this morning." Ny'Kerria said worried.
At first, Dre was stunned. But, he pushed the negative thoughts out of his mind. "Don't worry sis. I'm sure she just caught a bug or something. She'll be ok." Dre said, reassuringly.
"I don't know Dre, What if something is wrong and she's not telling us." Ny'Kerria replied. The kids had been through a lot, and Starr was all that they had. If they lost her, the one sure thing that they had in their lives, she would be devastated.
"I'm sure there is some sort of explanation, sissy. Don't worry about it." Dre said. Dre wasn't very re-assuring. But, only time would tell...
