Starr had always admired the women on TV. Back when she was little, she would play dress up, and act out the scenes to her favorite movies. When she turned 18, she packed her things, left the hood and went to Del Sol Valley to perseu her career in acting. It's been a few years now. Starr has settled into to the exciting city filled with celebrities and has even made a small name for herself. By day, she was a well known actor and by night, she was a stand up comedian. Little by little, she had climbed her way up to fame and even though she still hadn't made into any movies yet, she'd made it into a few 'Salty Sud' commercials.
One spring day, after having a successful commercial recording and rocking her stand up performance later that night, Starr went home, took a shower and went to sleep. She was exhausted. She got in the bed, and slept peacefully for a few hours and then she was awaken by the door bell.
Starr had just moved into her new mansion, and because of her level of stardom, most people didn't know where she lived. Curious, Starr went to the door and opened, and was stunned to see her sister, Nikki at her doorstep with her two kids. Starr hadn't seen Nikki in over 5 years and she was shocked to see what terrible condition that she was in....
"Oh my god, Nikki? What are you doing here? Are you ok?" Starr said, stunned, Starr's heart broke when she looked at her niece and nephew. Their hair was a mess, their clothes' were barely hanging on their frail little bodies and they looked filthy.
"Hey, Sis." Nikki said, obviously high off of some drug. "I need your help."
Starr was unsure of what her sister might ask, but whatever it was, she was willing to help. She hadn't seen her sister in five years.. "Anything Nikki. Are you hungry? Please, come in." Starr said trying to get her sister to come inside.
"No!" Nikki said abruptly, the drugs showing in her demeanor. "I don't need to come inside."
"Well, then what do you need?" Starr asked, confused.
"I need for you to take these kids! I can't take it anymore." She said as the kids whimpered sadly behind her.
"You haven't spoken to me in almost 5 years, and all of a sudden you want me to take your KIDS?" Starr asked in disbelief. Starr's blood was boiling. In this moment she was reminded of why Starr had stopped speaking with her sister in the first place; she was irresponsible and NEVER took care of her responsibilities. "Nikki, I don't know the first thing about raising kids." She said honestly.
"Well, you gon' learn today. Cause' I'm through with them." Nikki said, looking down at both of her kids. "Ny'Keria & Dre, you gon' be livin' with ya' auntie Starr. She's a big celebrity now, we see her all the time on the 'Salty Suds' commercial. She's going to be your mother from now on cause' I can't do it."
Nikki said, pushing her kids forward and walking away. She didn't even bother to give them a kiss goodbye and she never looked back as she skipped down the street leaving Starr there to hold her inconsolable niece and nephew in the middle of the night.
Starr's career had just started to take off, she was making money and life was great... But now, out of nowhere, she had two kids to support... And she had NO IDEA how the hell she was going to do that, but right now, she didn't have a choice.
"Don't Worry babies." She whispered to them. "Auntie Starr has got your back now." She said as they wept. "And I'm never going to leave you two... EVER." She promised.
